Brent Kuker, a native of Readlyn, Iowa, graduated from Wapsie Valley HS. He attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1991 with a B.S. in Physical Education. He was named head softball coach at UIU in 2002. Kuker has led the team to their best two seasons in program history, 21-17 in 2003 and 28-18 in 2004. Kuker has coached 3 All-Americans, 3 All-Conference, 32 NFCA Scholar All-Americans, and 3 Verizon Academic All-Americans. From 1998-2001, he served as the assistant softball and women's basketball coach. Prior to UIU, Kuker coached at Iowa Lakes CC as the head volleyball and softball coach from 1991-97. In 2007 Kuker retired from coaching and was named the Co-Director of the UIU Recreation and Fitness Center. Brent and his wife Gina (Assistant Professor of Education at UIU) reside in Fayette with their two children, Jocelyn and Braxton.
