Casey Carlo was promoted to Defensive Coordinator prior to the 2007 season in addition to his duties as the defensive line coach with the Upper Iowa University football team. He also serves as the strength and conditioning coach at UIU. Carlo began his duties July 1, 2005.

After a playing career at Waldorf College and the University of Northern Iowa, Carlo began his coaching career as the defensive coordinator/linebacker coach at Northern University High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa, from 1996-99. He was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at UNI in 2000-01. In 2004, Carlo was the defensive line coach at Urbandale High School.

Carlo earned his Bachelor's Degree in Coaching/Liberal Arts from Northern Iowa in 1995. He is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Exercise Science from UNI.
