Findlay, Ohio--Upper Iowa continued their play in the NCAA Division II Central Regional today at Red Hawk Run Golf Course in Findlay, Ohio. The Peacocks shot five strokes better than day one as they put together a 305. The team sits in sixth place in the standings thru 36 holes. UIU trails the second-place, Central Missouri, by only 9 strokes. Adam Winans led the Peacocks with a 70 (-2) and is currently tied for 3rd in the regional. Winans has seven birdies in two rounds which is good for third in the regional. Matt Dahlke had another solid day shooting a 74 (+2) and maintaining his lead in the pars made category over the entire field. The junior leads all golfers with 26 pars. Josh Wells scrambled well today as he battled the course to a 78 on day two. Wells sits in a tie for 20th in the Central Region. Tucker Bayler used his putter to make up for his untrustworthy irons as he turned in an 83. Craig Signorin closed out the Peacocks scoring. The junior shot 87 and sits in 42nd place overall. The top team within each regional and the top team left in the super regional, along with the top individual not on one of the qualifying teams, will advance to the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship next week, May 13-16, in Houston, Texas. Tomorrow's third and final round gets underway at Red Hawk with Upper Iowa set to tee off at 7:00 a.m. Team Standings thru Round One |
