North Region Invite Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

The Peacock women's golf team capped off the North Region Invite this past Sunday as they extended their day one lead to 18 strokes en route to capturing the team title over second-place and the number-one ranked team in the region, Nebraska-Omaha, at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Okoboji, Iowa.

Rachael Schmidt brought home medalist honors after firing a 155 (77-78) for the tournament. She finished six strokes in front of second-place finisher and twin-sister, Rochelle, who shot a 161 (82-79) for the tournament.

Freshman Jill Preeshl carded a 164 (81-83) over the two days to collect a sixth place finish for the tournament. Teammate Laura Taylor rebounded on day two with a 79 to record a 167 (88-79) for the tournament.

Rounding out the scoring for UIU was Glenna Meyer, who shot a 180 (92-88) for the tournament. Golfing individually for Upper Iowa was Lindsey Holien who shot a 181 (95-86), Jessica Lang with a 197 (106-91) and Kelly Rowe 205 (108-97).

With the road to the NCAA North Regional now complete, the Peacocks are now looking ahead to May 5-7 as they will be traveling to Grand Forks, North Dakota to compete in this tournament. This marks the second time in as many years the Peacock women have been invited to the regional tournament as a team.
