Upper Iowa University named Dave Jackson as its Head Volleyball Coach March 13, 2006. Jackson served as the assistant coach with the Peacocks druing the 2006 season. In his one season with the Peacock volleyball program, Jackson helped the team to 11 wins, which tied the program record for wins in a season. He will take over a program joining the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in 2006-07. Jackson, a native of Waterloo, Iowa, started his coaching career as an assistant at Loras College from 1998-2002. At Loras, Jackson worked with nine all-conference selections and the 2002 conference Most Valuable Player. He joined the University of Dubuque as an assistant in 2003-04 where he produced two all-conference picks. Jackson was named the Interim Head Coach at Dubuque in August 2004 before being appointed the head coach later that month. With Jackson at the helm, Dubuque had two players named all-conference and the team led the nation in attendance. Jackson also coordinated all aspects of the 2004 Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. After one season at the helm of Dubuque, Jackson joined UIU in June 2005. Jackson has served as the president of the Court Masters Select Volleyball Club in Dubuque from 1999-2005. He has developed a number of athletes who are currently competing at NCAA Division I, II and III institutions. Jackson's 2004 and 2005 teams qualified for the 18-and-under USA Junior Olympic National Championships. After earning his bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Jackson obtained his master's degree in Athletic Administration from Loras in 2005. |
