Peacocks Sign Two to National Letter of Intent
 
Peacock Head Volleyball Coach Shari Robertson announced today that Sara Vance of Tampa, Florida and Kirsten Zeise of Lakeville, Minnesota have signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and volleyball careers at Upper Iowa University. (MORE)

Upper Iowa Athletics Department Honors 169 Student-Athletes
 
The Athletics Department of Upper Iowa University recognized 169 student-athletes who earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll between games of the Winona State-Upper Iowa basketball doubleheader Saturday night. The honored group includes student-athletes, team managers, student assistant coaches, and student athletic trainers. This year's 169 honorees are a new record for total student-athletes honored at Upper Iowa. (MORE)

New Peacock Volleyball Coach Named
Upper Iowa University named Shari Robertson as its Head Volleyball Coach today. Robertson replaces Dave Jackson, who spent three with years with the program; one as an assistant and two as the head coach. The Denver, Iowa native will lead a Peacock program into the loaded Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) in 2007-08. (MORE)

Coaching Change for the 2008-09 Season
Upper Iowa University Volleyball Coach Dave Jackson will not return for the 2008-09 season. The Assistant Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator, Shari Robertson, will assume the position of Interim Head Coach. (MORE)

Darcy Hageman Earns Northern Sun All-Conference Honors
The Northern Sun Conference has handed out their Volleyball All-Conference Awards and Darcy Hageman (Sr., Decorah, Iowa) has earned an NSIC Honorable Mention. The all-conference nod is the first in the program's short Division II and Northern Sun history; it is also the first all-conference honor that a Peacock volleyball player has earned since 2000 in the Iowa Athletic Collegiate Conference. Peacocks Lose Tight Battle to #10 Mustangs in Season Finale
The Peacock volleyball team took the floor for the final time in Dorman Gym this season. Upper Iowa welcomed Southwest Minnesota State to Fayette for the final game of the 2007 season. The team honored Darcy Hageman and Keely Jones before the game as the two seniors on the Peacocks' squad. The visitors handed the home team a lopsided loss in game one (30-17), but Upper Iowa played very well in games two and three losing 30-28 and 30-25 to the #10 team in the nation. (MORE)

Peacocks Fall to Wildcats at Home
The Peacock volleyball team hosted the Wildcats of Waynes State College on Friday evening. The visitors walked on the floor in Dorman Gym and dominated the Peacocks in three games. At times, the Peacocks were able to hang with the Wildcats in game three, but in the end the visitors won by the scores 30-15, 30-17, and 30-23. (MORE)

Upper Iowa Drops Two NSIC Road Matches
The Upper Iowa women's volleyball team took to the road this past weekend for two Northern Sun Conference matches. The Peacocks visited the Wolves of Northern State on Friday night and then moved on to face the Marauders of U-Mary on Saturday afternoon. The road team played tough, but were still swept in both matches. UIU lost to NSU 31-29, 30-23, and 30-26 and to UM 30-26, 30-21, and 30-25. The two losses dropped the Peacocks' record to 4-24 overall and 0-16 in the NSIC. (MORE)
